Shares of liquor companies were in focus with stock prices of five companies -- GM Breweries, Pioneer Distilleries, Ravi Kumar Distilleries, Empee Distilleries and Globus Spirits -- being locked in the upper circuit of 20 per cent each on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Trading volumes in these shares more than doubled, as only buyers were seen on the counters.
Som Distilleries, Associated Alcohols & Breweries and Pincon Spirit were up between 10-18 per cent, while United Breweries, United Spirits, IFB Agro Industries, Jagatjit Industries and Tilaknagar Industries up in the range of 2-6 per cent on the BSE.
