Mentha oil rises 0.8% as demand picks up

Mentha oil for delivery in September gained 0.65%

Supported by a pick up in industrial demand in the spot market and restricted supplies from producing regions, mentha oil prices gained 0.85% to Rs 879.50 per kg in futures trade today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in August moved up by Rs 7.40, or 0.85% to Rs 879.50 per kg in business turnover of 364 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in September gained Rs 5.70, or 0.65% to Rs 895.60 per kg in 358 lots.

Market analysts said besides pick up in industrial demand in the spot market, restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade.
