The stocks of companies engaged in the metals business especially copper, have done well between December 2004 to March 1, 2005, on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
 
Share price of Hindustan Copper rose from Rs 41.95 on December 1, to today's close of Rs 58, up 38.25 per cent on the BSE.
 
During the same period the stock price of Sterlite Industries increased from Rs 566.85 to Rs 722.85, up 27.52 per cent.
 
The Hindalco scrip however fell 3.14 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange today, to close at Rs 1350.70.
 
Binani Ind gained from Rs 27.15 to Rs 31.85.
 
Hindustan Zinc firmed up from Rs 123.20 to Rs 173.90, up 41.15 per cent. The shares of Precision Wires however slipped from Rs 83.20 to Rs 79.84.
 
Shivalik Bimetal Controls moved from Rs 183.95 to Rs 349.15 and SWIL from Rs 14.12 to Rs 17.80.
 
Tinplate inched up from Rs 46.10 to Rs 52.15 and Galada Power & Telecom from Rs 4.54 to Rs 8.55.
 
Gujarat Intrux climbed from Rs 19.55 to Rs 21.85.
