Nickel gains 0.4% on global cues

Spot demand from alloy-makers influences prices

Nickel prices gained 0.41% to Rs 933.80 per kg in futures trading today as speculators created fresh positions in tandem with a firming global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in October gained Rs 3.80, or 0.41%, to Rs 933.80 per kg, with a business turnover of 470 lots.

September nickel traded higher by Rs 3.30, or 0.36%, to Rs 924.20 per kg, with a business turnover of 7,569 lots.

Marketmen said besides spot demand from alloy-makers, a firming at the London Metal Exchange influenced nickel prices at futures trade.
