Nifty jumps above 4,000; ICICI Bank zooms 11%

The NSE Nifty is up 83 points at 4,030.

ICICI Bank has zoomed nearly 11% to Rs 611. HDFC has soared 8.7% to Rs 2,053, and HDFC Bank has surged 7.8% to Rs 1,033. SBI has rallied 5.5% to Rs 1,294.

Bharti Airtel, DLF and Reliance Infrastrucutre have rallied over 4.5% each to Rs 784, Rs 447 and Rs 843, respectively.

ITC and ONGC have gained 4% each at Rs 174 and Rs 939, repsectively.

Reliance, Cipla and BHEL have advanced over 3% each to Rs 2,080, Rs 219 and Rs 1,497, respectively.

NTPC and Reliance Communications have moved up nearly 3% each to Rs 169 and Rs 430, respectively. Maruti has added 2.4% to Rs 614.

 

Satyam has slumped 7.5% to Rs 383. Wipro has plunged over 5% to Rs 360. Infosys has tumbled over 4% to Rs 1,517.

Ranbaxy has shed 4.4% at Rs 433. Tata Steel is down 1% at Rs 601.

Out of 2,476 stocks traded so far, 1,441 have advanced, 940 have declined and 95 are unchanged.
