Pepper extends gains on thin supply

September contract rises 0.69%

Amid thin supplies in the spot markets, pepper prices rose by 0.69% to Rs 42,100 per quintal in futures market today.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, pepper for delivery in September gained Rs 290, or 0.69%, to Rs 42,100 per quintal, with an open interest of 593 lots.

October pepper shot up by Rs 80, or 0.19%, to Rs 43,140 per quintal, with an open interest of 5,830 lots.

Marketmen said negligible stocks following thin supplies in the market continued to influence pepper prices at futures trade.
