Potato futures remain weak on increased supply

Potato futures prices fell further by Rs 13.60 to Rs 653 per quintal today on increased arrivals in the physical market against a sluggish demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, potato for delivery in March fell by Rs 13.60, or 1.15 per cent to Rs 653 per quintal, with a trade volume of just one lot.
The potato for delivery in April also weakened by Rs 6.80, or 1.06 per cent to Rs 633 per quintal, with a trade volume of just one lot.
Market analysts said adequate stocks position, following increased arrivals in the physical market against sluggish demand, helped potato futures prices to trade lower here.
