Potato softens 0.73% on low demand
Adequate stocks influence prices

Potato futures prices softened by Rs 5.10 to Rs 691 per quintal in futures market today as traders offloaded their positions due to low demand in the spot market.
Adequate stocks availability in the physical market following fresh arrivals from the producing regions kept pressure on potato.
At the Multi Commodity exchange, potato prices for delivery in April fell by Rs 5.10, or 0.73% to Rs 691 per quintal in a business turnover of 10 lots.
March potato traded lower by Rs 3.90, or 0.53%, to Rs 728.90 per quintal in five lots.
Continued fall in potato prices was due to offloading of positions by traders due to low demand in the spot market, analysts said.
