The stocks of companies engaged in the cement business have soared between December 1, 2004, and March 9, 2005, on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
 
Share price of Birla Corporation rose from Rs 137.55 on December 1, to today's close of Rs 185.85, up 33.66 per cent on the BSE.
 
Deccan Cements firmed up from Rs 57.35 to Rs 69.45, up by 21 per cent, and Dalmia Cem (Bharat) from Rs 277.95 to Rs 385.25.
 
Gujarat Ambuja Cement gained from Rs 365.70 to Rs 443.55 and UltraTech Cement from Rs 295.30 to Rs 375.50.
 
Mysore Cements increased from Rs 16.25 to Rs 24.60 and Kakatiya Cements from Rs 81.40 to Rs 101.05.
 
Madras Cements climbed from Rs 846 to Rs 1053.45 and Mangalam Cement from Rs 48 to Rs 79.
 
NCL Ind inched up from Rs 22.95 to Rs 21.85 and OCL India from Rs 359.95 to Rs 522.25.
 
Shree Cement moved from Rs 220 to Rs 351.95.
