Realty, Capital Goods stocks lead; TCS slips 2%

The Nifty is up 70 points at 3,996.

Jaiprakash Associates has zoomed 9.4% to Rs 152. DLF has soared 8.2% to Rs 413.

BHEL has surged 7% to Rs 1,494, and Reliance Infrastructure has gained 6% at Rs 765.

Larsen & Toubro has rallied nearly 6% to Rs 2,365. Reliance Communicaitons has added 5.5% to Rs 411.

Ranbaxy has gained 4% at Rs 534. HDFC has advanced 3.3% to Rs 1,999.

ICICI Bank is up 2.8% at Rs 590, and ITC has gained 2.5% at Rs 174.

Tata Steel has slipped over 3% to Rs 636. Cipla and TCS have shed 2% each at Rs 207 and Rs 839, respectively.

 

The market breadth is positive - out of 2,583 stocks traded, 1,532 have advanced, 969 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
