Rubber products export up by 31.5% till Aug FY11

India's export of rubber products is estimated to have risen by 31.5 per cent during the first five months of this fiscal, Parliament was informed today. 

The country's exports of rubber products declined to Rs 6,370.66 crore in 2009-10 fiscal as compared to Rs 7,039.94 crore in the previous financial year. 

"As per the available provisional statistics up to August 2010, the projected growth/increase in export of rubber products this year is about 31.5 per cent," Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jyotiraditya Scindia said in a written reply to Lok Sabha.

On rubber exports, he said the shipments declined by 47 per cent to 25,090 tonnes in 2009-10 against 46,926 tonnes in the previous fiscal.

 

In value terms, exports fell to Rs 250.6 crore from Rs 450.20 crore.

According to the Rubber Board data, the exports are down by 13 per cent to 11,678 tonnes during the first 10 months of the current fiscal.
