Sensex down 216pts; BHEL slips 3%

The NSE Nifty is down 58 points at 5,100.

Jaiprakash Associates has tumbled 5% to Rs 257. Reliance Infrastructure has shed 4% at Rs 1,400.

BHEL has plunged 3% at Rs 1,741.

SBI and Bharti Airtel have dropped 2.7% to Rs 1,657and Rs 828, respectively.

NTPC is trading at 186- down 2.6%.

HDFC Bank, TCS, Cipla and Wipro have slipped around 2% each to Rs 1,467, Rs 955, Rs 208 and Rs 496, respectively.

DLF and Hindalco are down 1.8% each to Rs 637 and Rs 200, respectively.

Satyam has gained 1.3% at Rs 495. Tata Motors and Infosys are up over 1% each at Rs 678 and Rs 1,891, respectively.
