Sensex edges towards 15k mark, up 137pts

The Sensex, after yesterday's volatile session, opened up 52 points at 14,893.

The index is now up 137 points at 14,977.

Sterlite has gained 3% at Rs 684. Wipro, HDFC, Hindalco, ICICI Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra have advanced 2.5% each.

Tata Power added 2% to Rs 1,107. ITC, Tata Steel, Larsen & Toubro, TCS, Tata Motors, Jaiprakash Associates and Reliance Communicatiosn have moved up 1-2% each.

However, Reliance Infrastructure and ONGC have slipped a per cent each to  Rs 1,291 and Rs 1,168, respectively.
