Sensex firm, up 390pts

The Sensex is now up 390 points at 10,552.

Reliance Communications has surged nearly 7% to Rs 238. Tata Motors and Maruti have gained around 6.5% each at Rs 812 and Rs 782, respectively.

BHEL and HLL have advanced around 6% each to Rs 1,953 and Rs 223, respectively. Hindalco has added 5.6% to Rs 172.

HDFC and Grasim are up 4.7% each at Rs 1,120 and Rs 1,922, respectively.

The market breadth is extremely positive - out of 2,149 stocks traded so far, 1,597 have advanced, 488 have declined and 64 are unchanged.
