Sensex soars 170pts; Hindalco surges 4%

The Sensex is now up 170 points at 14,261.

SBI has soared 6% (Rs 68) to Rs 1,206. Hindalco has surged over 4% to Rs 183.

Bharti Airtel and Tata Motors have rallied over 3% each to Rs 731 and Rs 905, respectively.

Reliance Communications, Reliance Energy and NTPC have advanced over 2% each to Rs 472, Rs 525 and Rs 145, respectively.

Tata Steel has slipped over 2% to Rs 454.

Out of 2,664 stocks traded so far, 1,322 have advanced, 1,293 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
