Sensex up 144pts; SBI soars 7%

The Sensex is now up 147 points at 14,238.

SBI has soared 6.7% (Rs 76) to Rs 1,215. Hindalco has surged nearly 3% to Rs 181.

Bharti Airtel has flared up 2.7% to Rs 726. Tata Motors, Reliance Communications, Reliance Energy and ACC have rallied over 2% each to Rs 898, Rs 471, Rs 525 and Rs 1,041, respectively.

Gujarat Ambuja has gained nearly 2% at Rs 140. Wipro has moved up 1.6% to Rs 623.

Tata Steel has slipped over 2% to Rs 534.

Out of 2,654 stocks traded so far, 1,317 have advanced, 1,277 have declined and 58 are unchanged.
