Sensex up 145pts; Bharti soars 5%

The Sensex is now up 145 points at 14,412.

Bharti Airtel has soared 5.4% to Rs 771. Wipro has flared up 3% to Rs 640.

Gujarat Ambuja, Tata Steel and Reliance Communications have advanced 2.5% each to Rs 143, Rs 469 and Rs 485, respectively.

Cipla and Satyam have moved 2% each to Rs 251 and Rs 484, respectively. HDFC has added 1.7% to Rs 1,701.

NTPC has slipped nearly 1% to Rs 144.

Out of 2,541 stocks traded so far, 1,620 have advanced, 861 have declined and 60 are unchanged.
