Sensex up 154pts; Bharti, Wipro soars 3%

The Sensex is now up 154 points at 14,421.

Bharti Airtel and Wipro have surged nearly 3% each to Rs 753 and Rs 640, respectively.

Tata Steel has flared up 2.7% to Rs 470. Gujarat Ambuja and Reliance Communications have advanced 2.5% each to Rs 143 and Rs 485, respectively.

Cipla, ACC and Satyam have gained 2% each at Rs 251, Rs 1,056 and Rs 483, respectively.

HDFC has moved up 1.8% to Rs 1,702.

Out of 2,499 stocks traded so far, 1,637 have advanced, 803 have declined and 59 are unchanged.
