Sensex up 192pts; Tata Steel soars 8%

The Sensex is now up 192 points at 18,705.

Tata Steel has zoomed nearly 8% to Rs 988. ICICI Bank, Maruti and Hindalco have soared 4% each to Rs 1,143, Rs 1,164 and Rs 197, respectively.

Bharti Airtel has surged 2.5% to Rs 1,010. SBI and Larsen & Toubro have advanced nearly 2% each to Rs 1,944 and Rs 3,466, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Motors have gained 1.5% each at Rs 772 and Rs 786, respectively. Grasim is up 1% at Rs 3,690.

Cipla has plunged over 5% to Rs 186. Dr.Reddy's has dropped nearly 3% to Rs 612.

ITC and HDFC are down over 1% each to Rs 182 and Rs 2,515, respectively.

Out of 2,749 stocks traded so far, 1,627 have advanced, 1,046 have declined and 76 are unchanged.
