Sensex up 195pts; breadth fairly +ve

The Sensex is now up 195 points at 14,596.

HDFC has soared 3.5% to Rs 2,360. DLF and ICICI Bank have surged over 3% each to Rs 499 and Rs 664, respectively.

Tata Motors has rallied 2.5% to Rs 436. Satyam, Grasim, SBI, HDFC Bank and Mahindra & Mahindra have advanced over 2% each to Rs 395, Rs 1,972, Rs 1,375, Rs 1,220 and Rs 560, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructure and Reliance Communications have moved up 1.8% each to Rs 996 and Rs 413, respectively.

Bharti Airtel and ITC are up 1.4% each at Rs 818 and Rs 185, respectively.

Ranbaxy and Tata Power have slipped around 2% each to Rs 512 and Rs 1,031, respectively.

 

Maruti is down 1.3% at Rs 623.

The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,589 stocks traded so far, 1,545 have advanced, 951 have declind and the rest are unchanged.
