Sensex up 225pts at 9967

The Sensex touched a high of 9993, and is now up 225 points at 9967.

ICICI Bank is up 6.7% at Rs 609. Ranbaxy has surged 5% to Rs 409.

Reliance has rallied 3.5% to Rs 721.

HDFC, Hindalco, Larsen & Toubro, Cipla, ONGC, Bajaj Auto, ITC, HLL, Larsen & Toubro, Tata Motors and Tata Power have gained 2-3% each.

The market breadth is slightly positive. Out of 2,549 stocks traded so far, 1,478 have advanced, 1,014 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
