Sensex up 50pts; advances beat declines 2:1

The Sensex is now 50 points at 10,873.

The index has moved in a wide range of 378 points, a high of 11,001 and a low of 10,623.

Gainers are outnumbering losers in the ratio of 2:1 - out of 2,353 stocks traded so far, 1,542 have advanced, 771  have declined and 40 are unchanged.
