Sensex up 70pts; Hindalco drops 3%

The Sensex is now up 70 points at 14,474.

Reliance Communications has soared 4.5% to Rs 513, and Bharti Airtel has surged 2.8% to Rs 793.

HDFC has advanced over 2% to Rs 1,781. Maruti, Reliance Energy and Bajaj Auto have moved up around 1.5% each to Rs 959, Rs 542 and Rs 2,815, respectively.

Hindalco has shed 3% to Rs 178. Wipro has slipped 1.5% to Rs 634.

Cipla and HDFC Bank are down 1% each at Rs 247 and Rs 1,095, respectively.

Out of 2,637 stocks traded so far, 1,590 have advanced, 975 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
