Press Trust of India New Delhi
Silver prices fell by 0.44% to Rs 44,010 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed their positions, tracking a weak trend in the global markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March traded by Rs 193, or 0.44%, to Rs 44,010 per kg in business turnover of 431 lots.

Similarly, the white metal for delivery in May declined by Rs 183, or 0.41%, to Rs 44,997 per kg in business volume of 11 lots.

In the international market, silver traded 2.54% lower at $19.57 an ounce in New York in yesterday's trade.

Market analysts said a subdued trend in precious metals in the global markets as an improving economy cut demand for wealth protection, led to fall in silver prices at futures trade here.
