Silver futures rise on overseas trend

Silver prices spurted by Rs 406 to Rs 44,765 per kg in futures trade today, as speculators enlarged their positions, tracking firming trend in Asian region.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, silver for September-month delivery rose by Rs 406, or 0.92 per cent to Rs 44,765 per kg, with a business turnover of single lot.
Likewise, the white metal for delivery in March moved up by Rs 252, or 0.57 per cent to Rs 44,305 per kg, with a business turnover of two lots.
Market experts said the rise in silver futures prices was attributed to a firming trend in Asian region.
Meanwhile, silver climbed 0.7 per cent to $29.09 an ounce in Seoul.
