Small sugar recovers on stockists demand

Small sugar prices recovered smartly at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to fresh demand from stockists and bulk consumers amid higher retail offtake.

While, medium sugar traded mixed owing to alternate bouts of buying and selling. Small sugar (S-30) spurted by Rs 49 per quintal to Rs 2,721/2,811 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 2,721,2,762. 

Medium sugar (M-30), however was quoted at Rs 2,766/2,911 per quintal as against Rs 2,761/2,931 yesterday.

The following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal), with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,721/2,811 (Rs 2,721/2,762)
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,766/2,911 (Rs 2,761/2,931)
