Suzlon Energy rallies on bagging ONGC order

The project comprises 49 units of Suzlon's S88-2.1 MW wind turbines to be set up in the north western state of Rajasthan.

Suzlon Energy has rallied almost 8% to Rs 22.90, after India’s largest wind-turbine maker said that it wins 103-megawatt (MW) order from Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC).

“The project comprises 49 units of Suzlon’s S88-2.1 MW wind turbines to be set up in the north western state of Rajasthan,” Suzlon Energy said in a regulatory filing.

Suzlon will complete the project in the financial year ending March 31, 2014, it added.

The stock opened at Rs 21.70 and hit a high of Rs 23.25 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The counter has seen a rise in trading volumes with a combined 17.19 million shares changing hands in early morning trades, as against 38 million shares that were traded daily in past two weeks on NSE and BSE.
