Turmeric, jeera up on stockists buying

Turmeric and jeera prices rose by Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today on increased buying by stockists driven by rising domestic and export demand amid fall in supplies.  

Turmeric prices rose by Rs 200 to conclude at Rs 13,600-16,900 per quintal. 

Similarly, jeera common and best quality prices increased by Rs 200 each to settle at Rs 15,800-16,000 and Rs 17,300-18,300 per quintal, respectively.

Traders said increased buying by stockists, supported by pick up in domestic and export demand against fall in supplies from producing belts pushed up turmeric and jeera prices on the wholesale kirana market here.

Ajwain 16,000-21,000, black pepper common 23,300-23,500, betelnut (kg) 120-145, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,020-1,030, and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,100-1,250

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 1,010-1,030, cardamom (colour robin) 990-1,080, cardamom bold 1,000-1,050, cardamom extra (bold) 1,100-1,200 and cloves (kg) 350-440
