Zinc marginally up on firm global cues

November contract rises 0.1%

Tracking a firm global trend, zinc prices traded marginally higher by 0.10% to Rs 104.10 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh position.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in November edged up by 10 paise, or 0.10%, to Rs 104.10 per kg, with business turnover of a single lot.

October zinc traded marginally higher by 5 paise, or 0.05%, to Rs 103.45 per kg, with business turnover of 20 lots.

Marketmen said the rise in zinc prices at futures trade was due to a firming global trend.

Meanwhile, zinc gained 0.3% to $1,839.75 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
