Zinc recovers marginally in futures trade

Zinc prices rose by 0.26% in range-bound trade in the futures market today, even as the metal weakened on the London Metal Exchange.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, November zinc edged higher by 25 paise, or 0.26%, to Rs 95.25 per kg in 985 lots.
The December contract also moved up by similar margin to trade at Rs 96.25 per kg, with an open interest for 20 lots.
Market analysts said increased demand in the spot market mainly pushed up zinc futures prices, but a weak trend overseas capped the gains.
Meanwhile, zinc shed 0.20% to $1,910 per tonne on the LME.
