At least eleven people were killed and fourteen others injured in a road accident at Perle near Satara on the Pune-Bangalore Highway on Friday morning.
The injured, four of whom are said to be in a critical state, have been admitted to a hospital in Satara.
The accident is said to have occurred when a vehicle carrying 25 people on a pilgrimage to Kolhapur collided with a truck on the highway.
A probe has been ordered.
