US President Barack Obama has started his weeklong vacation at ritzy Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, by playing a round of golf with his pals.

Obama, who landed at the exclusive island on Saturday, spent over five hours at the Farm Neck Golf Club on his first day out, Politico reported.

Obama golfed with his adviser Marvin Nicholson, White House chef, Sam Kass, and Robert Wolf, a Wall Street consultant, who has previously advised him on matters related to finance.

Afterward, the president, along with the First Lady, Michelle, dinned out with pals at a French seafood restaurant, Sweet Life Cafe.
