A sports author and baseball collector broke the world record for the highest altitude a baseball has ever been caught, by catching a ball dropped from a helicopter flying 1,000 feet above his head.
Zack Hample, whose popular for catching over 6,800 major league baseballs till now, donned protective gear to avoid potential injury as he got ready to catch the ball, the Independent reported.
The ball had apparently reached a top speed of 95mph as it plummeted towards the ground.
In the video recording of the extraordinary catch, Hample can be seen losing sight of the ball as he positioned himself on the grass at Edward A. LeLacheur Park, which is home of a minor league baseball team in Massachusetts.
Hample's catch means that he has set a new record by surpassing the earlier world record of 822 feet (254m).
