Bill Cosby has been urged by lawyer Gloria Allred to waive the statute of limitations to allow women who accused him of rape allegations to "obtain justice".
Allred said in a press conference that many of the alleged victims had contacted her to determine what legal rights they had but unfortunately, she had to tell them it was too late for them to file a lawsuit against Cosby because of the statute of limitations, the BBC reported.
The lawyer also gave a second option for Cosby that was to place 100 million dollars in a fund, from which a panel of retired judges would decide what compensation would be appropriate if a woman's claim was found to have merit.
The 77-year-old actor is facing a series of "renewed" allegations that he drugged and sexually assaulted over a dozen women.
