The outfits worn by world leaders at this year's Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in Beijing are reportedly selling like hotcakes on e-commerce portals.
According to ABC News, Chinese e-commerce site Ali Express is selling 50-packs of the outfits-which have been likened to "Hunger Games" and "Star Trek" costumes-for 5,680 dollars, or 113.60 dollars each. The package includes free shipping.
Online shops are constantly receiving orders for counterfeited APEC outfits with prices shooting up from 199 yuan (32 dollars) to 289 yuan for men's coats, and 269 yuan to 399 yuan for women's coats, in a single day.
A shop owner reportedly said that he received more than 20 orders in the first half-day and that "people ordered similar outfits just out of curiosity".
World leaders are required to dress up in traditional outfits picked up by the host country during each APEC summit.
