Chris Brown to avoid jail time in RiRi assault case

Chris Brown has appeared in court after a month for his 2009 assault on ex girlfriend Rihanna.

The 24-year old singer, who made a six minute appearance, was ordered to spend 90 days in a residential treatment facility, to complete 24 hours a week of community labor and to take prescription medication, the ABC news reported.

The 'Kiss Kiss' singer is also subjected to drug testing and is forbidden from leaving Los Angeles, unless it's to attend a court hearing in Washington, D.C.
