The contribution of eminent Kannadigas who made Delhi Karnataka Sangha a national forum for promoting Kannada culture needs to be remembered, said Kannada and Culture Minister of Karnataka Umashree.
She was addressing in Decennial celebration of new cultural complex of Delhi Karnataka Sangha yesterday.
Efforts of former Ministers K.C. Reddy and Dr. Sarojini Mahishi to get land and building is significant and this should encourage us to engage in meaningful activities, she opined.
The former President and Chairman of the new cultural complex committee I.Ramamohan Rao and former president Dr.Purushottama Bilimale rememberd the help of Karnataka government and the donors. Both were felicitated by Minister Umashree.
A collection of poem 'Naanu Neenu' written by Sudhakara Kurandawada and 'Ashta kshetra gaana vaibhava' a CD by Harsha Kumar Rai Madavu were released.

Nadoja Dr.B.K.Sumitra presided over the function. President of Delhi Karnataka Sangha Vasant Shetty Bellare, Secretary C.M.Nagaraja, Former Directors of Kannada and Culture Y.K.Muddu Krishna and Dr.Muddu Mohan, Senior poets Dr.H.S.Venkateshamurthy, Dr.Doddarangegowda, M.N.Vyasa Rao and B.R.Laxman Rao were present on the occasion. Prithvi Karinje hosted the programme.
The 'Geetostsava' presented by twenty leading Kannada Singers performed in both Delhi Karnataka Sangha and J.S.S Engineering college, Noida. Folk dance and Songs were also performed by the artists of Delhi Karnataka Sangha.
The two day function was jointly organized by Delhi Karnataka Sangha and Karnataka Sugama Sangeeta Parishat, Bangalore in cooperation with Kannada and Culture Department, Government of Karnataka.
