Defending champion Nehwal knocked out of Australian Open

World number one Saina Nehwal has crashed out of the Australian Open Super series. She was defeated by Chinas Wang Shixian in the quarter-finals.

Second seeded Nehwal was completely dominated by the fourth seed Wang Shixian who registered an emphatic 21-15, 21-13 victory.

The defending champion could not live up to the expectations and lost the match in just 42 minutes.
