Dortmund enters CL quarterfinals 'on aggregate' despite 2-1 loss to Zenit St Petersburg

German side Borussia Dortmund has entered the quarterfinals of the Champions League after they qualified on aggregate despite a 2-1 defeat by Russian side Zenit St Petersburg on Wednesday at home in Signal Iduna Park.
With a 4-2 away win in storage, Jurgen Klopp's side fluidly secured their passage in the European tournament even as they lost on home soil.
According to The Guardian, Givaldinho Hulk's 16th-minute wonder strike for Zenit was cancelled out by Sebastian Kehl seven minutes before half-time, although Jose Salomon Rondon brought the game back to the visitors with his goal in the 73rd minute.
Despite the defeat, the only significant negative for Borussia was a yellow card for star striker Robert Lewandowski, which ruled him out of their next match, the report added.
