Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso will race at the upcoming 2013 United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, despite a back injury.
According to Sport24, Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo said on the team's website that he was pleased to see that Fernando was so keen to give it his all, even when he was not at his best, adding that it showed how attached he was to them.
Alonso suffered a compression injury to his back after hitting the kerb at the 2013 Abu Dhabi GP, the report said.
Ferrari is counting on Alonso to help the team fight for second place behind Red Bull in the Constructors' standings, the report added.
