The funeral of the two naval officers who had died when Indian Navy's Dornier aircraft crashed into the sea off the Goa coast earlier this week is scheduled to take place on Sunday.
The funeral of Lieutenant Abhinav Nagori will take place in his hometown Udaipur while that of Lieutenant Kiran Shekhawat will take place at her village Kurthala in Haryana.
The body of Lieutenant Nagori was recovered on Friday from the fuselage of the ill-fated Navy Dornier. Naval divers had earlier recovered the body of Lieutenant Kiran Shekhawat, who was in the aircraft along with Commander Nikhil Joshi who was able to survive the crash.
The aircraft was on a routine sortie with a three member crew on-board when the controlling tower lost contact with it at 10.08 pm on Tuesday. Preliminary findings reportedly indicate that the plane had developed some technical snag causing it to crash in the sea.
