West Indies produced a resilient performance as they staged a strong comeback on the second day of the first Test against England in Antigua.
Resuming the play on day two, England were bundled out for 399 as they lost their last five wickets for 42 runs, with Ben Stokes dismissed for 79 and Kemar Roach claiming four wickets while conceding 94 runs.
Chasing the target, West Indies kept on losing wickets at regular junctures and were reeling at 99-4 before veteran batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul (29 not out) and Jermaine Blackwood (30 not out) steadied the ship.
England pace spearhead scalped the wicket of Devon Smith (11) as he claimed his 381st Test wicket and closed the gap to within two of Ian Botham's record of highest Test wicket-taker for the country.
Darren Bravo (10) fell prey to Chris Jordan's delivery while Stuart Broad bowled a fuller delivery to force Marlon Samuels (33) edge out to wicketkeeper Jos Buttler.
Opener Kraigg Brathwaite batted 37 overs for his 39 before he was dismissed by off-spinner James Tredwell.
Subsequently, Chanderpaul and Blackwood toiled hard to add 56 runs together in the evening session to help their side reach 155-4 at the close of day two of the play.
