Academy Award winning actress Halle Berry is all set to star as the lead in Steven Spielberg produced series, 'Extant', it has been revealed.
In the CBS drama, the 47-year-old actress will play the character of an astronaut who returns to Earth after a year-long solo mission and has trouble reconnecting with her husband and son, the New York Daily News reported.
Berry, who will be seen as a television regular for the first time since 1991's 'Knots Landing', said in a statement that she will be playing this incredibly intelligent and vulnerable woman for five months a year, and for the remainder of the year she'll continue to look for other roles that move her as deeply as this one.
Meanwhile, Spielberg said that they are incredibly honoured that Berry has chosen their series to expand her illustrious career.
