Australian all-rounder Moises Henriques will replace injury hit James Faulkner during the team's tour of South Africa.
Cricket Australia confirmed Faulkner will undergo arthroscopic surgery on Tuesday on his right knee, after sustaining an injury during the final one-day international against England on Australia Day.
The selection of Henriques, who made his Test debut during the tour of India last year, is sure to raise eyebrows.
But chief selector John Inverarity said he was the ideal replacement for Faulkner, News.com.au reports.
Faulkner will be replaced by South Australia bowler Kane Richardson for the Twenty20 series against England.
