The Indian Army on Tuesday foiled an infiltration bid by Pakistan near Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district.

Around eight armed intruders were trying to infiltrate inside Indian boundaries.

The infiltration attempt was conducted by Pakistan's Border Action Team (BAT) at around 1: 00 pm in the noon.

The Pakistani troops fired at Indian posts using mortar and small arms fire.

No causalities have been reported.

Further details are awaited.

BAT is a group of Special Forces of Pakistan. It acts under the cover of shelling by Pakistani troops. There have been several BAT attacks in the past in which Indian jawans have been beheaded or their bodies mutilated.
