Jaipur: Hindu organisation protest against demolition of temples for metro construction

Protests erupting across Jaipur brought traffic to a standstill as Hindu organisations demonstrated against the demolition of temples for the construction of the metro rail in the city.

"We are protesting against the state government and the administration. We are protesting against the demolition of temples. We have protested at around a thousand points in the city, on behalf of the Mandir Bachao Andolan Samity," a protestor, Dinesh Garg said.

"They are destroying temples by giving the excuse of the metro, but they are even demolition those temples which were not permitted. The government needs to punish those guilty. We will make sure that our ancient culture will not be besmirched at any cost," another protestor said.
