Lorde crowned best International Female Solo Artist at Brit awards 2014

Lorde has been named the best International Female Solo Artist at 2014's Brit Awards held in London.

The 'Royals' hit maker beat off competition from the likes of Lady Gaga, Jessie J, Pink, Katy Perry and Janelle Monae to win the award, the Mirror reported.

The 17-year-old singer had a phenomenal breakout year in 2013 with her debut album 'Pure Heroine' going in at Number 4 on the charts.
