President Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday expressed his deep concern over the loss of lives and injuries caused to pilgrims when a construction crane collapsed at the Masjid al-Haram (Grand Mosque) in Mecca.

President Mukherjee conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the families of deceased and his prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured.
He also called upon concerned authorities in India to extend assistance possible to the families of the deceased Indian pilgrims and those injured in the incident.
At least 107 pilgrims, including two Indians were killed and more than 230 injured when a crane crashed into the grand mosque of Saudi Arabia in Mecca.
