Nepal President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav inspected flood-hit areas of the nation's Kailali District on Monday.
Heavy rains in mid-August had flooded the Karnali River, creating havoc in the eastern belt of Kailali District.
After the inspection, President Yadav met with flood victims, landless squatters and freed kamaiyas, who were present at Tikapur-based Tikapur Multiple Campus.
He was also briefed by the Chief District Officer of Kailali, Bed Prakash Lekhak, about the devastation caused by flood and about relief materials distributed to the affected families.
Four people had lost their lives and eight were injured in the floods in Kailali District.
