Northern Carolina has reportedly been hit by the strongest earthquake in 25 years, a report said.

The quake measured 6.0 on the Richter scale and struck six miles southwest of Napa, North Carolina's infamous wine country, early Sunday. Several people were injured in the region and historic structures were damaged in downtown Napa, reported CNN.

Almost 160 received treatment for minor injuries at Queen of the Valley Hospital, the report said. However, hospital CEO Walt Mickens could not confirm if all the patients were injured in the earthquake.

The hospital also admitted 13 people for orthopedic issues and medical conditions. Only one patient was in a critical condition by Sunday night.

Glenn Pomeroy, CEO of the California Earthquake Authority, said that the damage in Napa was "fairly significant."

The earthquake has also left 15,000 customers in and around Sonoma, Napa and Santa Rosa without power.
